About Maureen

Hello, my name is Maureen Linsenmeir. I received my Masters Degree in Counseling in 1980 from the University of Vermont, and became a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Vermont in 1989. I received my National Board Certification as a counselor in 1983. I have been in private practice in St. Albans since 1980, providing individual, couples, family and group therapy. I consult with businesses and conduct training for government and private organizations. I utilize a systems approach in my work with people facing the stress of life transitions. My experience includes the treatment of anxiety, depression, the issues involved with relationships, parenting, elder care, and drug and alcohol dependancy. I trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction techniques at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. I am presently engaged in the study of Internal Family Systems.
